Favorite App of the Day: Sims for my iPhone!

A whole little Village of Sims on my iPhone!

A whole little Village of Sims on my iPhone!

I’ve been looking and looking at the apps store for JUST what I found last night…

Tiny little sims for my iPhone. Life is almost complete, now.

This appears to be made by the same company who created the earlier, more rudimentary version for my formerly beloved Treo (called Village Sims). The company that created both the older rendition and this new “Virtual Villagers: A New Home” is Last Day of Work. But, in the apps store, the seller is listed as Vivendi Games Mobile, (but it is copyrighted by Big Fish Games of LDW fame.)

When I ordered from LDW before, the customer service was amazing. I really like them as a company.

With this app going through Apple’s app store, I’m not sure how much direct contact I’ll have with the developers — if LDW is in fact the creator of this port. (I may have to drop them a line to inquire and then thank them for creating these cute little guys for my iPhone.)

Coolest new feature? The mini-games you can play to speed up the progress of the itty-bitty people learning new skills.

Biggest frustration? Grabbing them isn’t easy. I have to try multiple times to tap successfully to pick them up and move them where I want them to be. (Hoping this will be fixed in the next update.)

So, if you have been jonesing for some little sims for your iPhone, your wish is granted. And, it’s just one more way iPhone rules the smartphone/gaming/communication realm.

Not that I’m biased, or anything.

(note: Photo taken using the built-in screenshot tool on my iPhone – just hold down the home button and briefly tap the top button. The screenshot will be added to your camera roll automagically!)

Two of the Best Celebrity Custom Sims 2 Skins I’ve Ever Seen

While searching for cool skins for my Sims Life Stories game, I tripped across two of the prettiest, most life-like Sims2 skins that I’ve every seen… And I’ve seen ALOT of Sims skins!

These are, unfortunately, too large for me to download on my Sims Life Stories game, but if I were running standard Sims 2, they would be a staple! They put the standard Maxis skins (and most of the other skins available) to shame!

My Valentines Day Gift: Sims Life Stories

My hubby picked me up a copy of Sims Life Stories for Valentines day, and I must admit I’ve really enjoying my new little Sims. As a long-time player of Sims and Sims 2 (I have had ALL the expansion packs), I’m still happy with this “toned down” version of the game. Why? Because it does something the other versions have never done…Unlike the predecessors, this Sims can play in a window! Now, this means that doing online “poking about” — I was also “Simming” in a window on my second monitor. As a natural multi-tasker, I must say I love that ability. I love it enough to put up with less.

I also like that the “fears” have been removed, that I no longer have to pay those blasted bills (or deal with the collectors, when my simmies forgot). I do miss being able to send my simmies to college. Ironically, I don’t really miss the ability to open a business (I guess I have enough of that in my real life — go figure!).

Sims Launches New Mobile Friendly Line of Games

EA Games has just announced a new mobile-friendly game, based on the famous Sims2 model. The company has announced three games, marketed under the umbrella of Sims Life Stories.

The first one is called Life Stories, is due out in February. The second, Life Stories Pets is due out this summer. The third is the one I most anticipate (probably because I’m such a huge “Lost” fan) called Castaway Stories.

But what do I look forward to most with this new offering?…
The fact that it will play in a window!!! So I can do other things while my Sims are living their lives. For those not currently Sims2 fans… you probably can’t understand the importance of this. For those who are… ISN’T THAT COOL?!?!
