You can create a demand for just about anything with the appropriate marketing. After all, I can remember a time when people paid good money for &quot;pet rocks.&quot; (I can even remember WANTING one, if that tells you anything.)

Do I recommend creating a market for something like that? Not really. But if you have something of value (real or perceived) to sell, having the right marketing will help you reach the right buyer.

Personally, I believe marketing should be more informative than overtly promotional. My own definition of marketing is to develop a recognizable brand and to eloquently communicate the benefits of the product in a forum most likely to be populated by those who will need or want the product.
