Government... WTF?

  • 35% of State Workers Collecting Worker's Comp? Surely the state of IL doesn’t have an abuse in this system, do they? After all, it’s not like 25% of those that determine the validity of WC claims are making WC claims for themselves… oh, wait…
  • Because our national budget needs this?!? While politicians battle about the deficit and find few “non-essential” places they can cut (pun intended) … We are still paying for THIS!
  • British Big Brother I wonder how long before these “run every vehicle on the road” devices are being used in the good ol’ USA?
  • California to Search Cellphones During Arrests Because some politicians aren’t merely stupid, some are missing vital anatomical parts required to do a good job…
  • English Teachers Can Have Bad Grammar Those who can, DO — those who can’t… TEACH?!?
  • Environmental Impact Study to Use the Park? Fireworks and even small gatherings, for say a kid’s birthday party, will now require a permit AND an environmental impact study first? Geeze!
  • Felony Charges for Fibbing on Facebook? And, if this Draconian crap is allowed to fly — let’s consider the practical application (reality and good sense aside)… WHERE are we going to keep the 99% of the population who has, at one point or another, done this — accidentally or on purpose?
  • Foreign Banks Borrow From US During Recession The Fed hands out billions to foreign banks while the folks at home suffer the results of the recession.
  • Free Education for Illegals? Attend state high school for three years in California and get a free college education — but only if you are an illegal.
  • Govt = Big Brother So now a new push is on to encourage tattling on your neighbors. Isn’t this the basis for most scary futuristic sci-fi stories ever told? What a crock. 1984, here we come… just a couple decades later than expected.
  • Hefty Fines for Trimming Trees How would you like to be fined or forced to replace trees ON YOUR OWN LAND because the city didn’t like the way you pruned?
  • How bad is the debt? Great breakdown of national debt, debt heaped on the heads of each citizen and every taxpayer, with additional fiscal figures of importance.
  • In-State Tuition Granted to Illegals Let’s not worry too much about our own citizens, so long as we bend over backwards to help illegals, right?
  • IRS Deductions for Mexican and Canadian Kids In 2011, $3700 deductions are offered for each dependent – even if that dependent is a resident of another country? Nice.
  • Keeping Secrets Obama accepts award for openness in government — in secret. How ironic.
  • Keeping tabs… On YOU The government now forces your ISP to keep (and share) all your online history.
  • No Advantage to Observing Immigration Laws Really? What message is our goverment sending to those who break our laws?
  • Obama Administration Sues to Impede Immigration Enforcement Sooo, if the federal government isn’t enforcing the law, I guess the LEAST they can do is sue the states that are trying to enforce it, right?!?
  • Organic Food Seized/Destroyed by Swat Team So you think this country is just a little off-center? Take a peek at this! Organic and raw milk store has its stock destroyed, its money taken and its owner jailed on a $120K bond. Ahhh, the land of the free!
  • Packed Lunch is Forbidden Food Nevermind that MY idea of nutrition and a school’s idea of nutrition are on different planets… what ever happened to PARENTAL rights?
  • Serve and Protect, eh? Homeless man beaten to death by police – FBI called in to investigate
  • Small Business Killer Undue burden on the small Internet business owner to require complex figuring and reporting of across state border sales, at a time when the economy is whimpering and the small business owner is barely making ends meet..
  • Solution to Healthcare Debacle? Love this arguement – if you don’t want to pay the cost of government-forced health care, make less money!
  • Swat Teams Collect Student Loans?!?! California man had his front door busted down at 6 a.m. because his estranged wife had student loans. WTF? Now the Dept of Education has a police force?
  • US Govt Pays for Mexican Mufflers I wonder why these trucks are allowed to cross the border if they are not up to par with our requirements, and more importantly, why US funds and grants are used to improve them.
  • We All Need Special Help So now employers are going to be charged with proving why each employee doesn’t need special consideration and/or accommodation for disabilities of one type or another. No wonder all our jobs are going overseas…
  • Weapons to Control Citizens Unarmed citizens can now be targeted and dispursed with these new technologies approved by our goverment.
